It was the luthier team of Doug Irwin and Thomas Lieber that worked intimately with Jerry Garcia through the process of designing, creating and building his favorite and most often played custom guitars.
All of the instruments created at Lieber guitars have experienced a minimum resale value three-times their original purchase price. Time itself has validated this fact!
The Guitar
Figured-Flamed Maple three piece neck with a 160-year-old rosewood fingerboard. Body is chambered American Black Walnut with a ¼ inch Flame Maple top. Figured Maple headstock overlays, Abalone Hearts eagle logo inlay. Pick up mounting ring is figured Maple.
Electronics feature our standard Garcia DiMarzio pickup package (minus the effects loop and buffer). Master volume, neck pickup tone control, middle and rear pickup tone control, 5 position lever switch, coil tapping switches for both middle and rear pickups ie series / single coil / parallel. Electronics cavity has been dimensioned to receive future components.
Dual acting truss rods are installed within all our instruments.
